Škola jako sociální instituce a jako úroveň organizace vzdělávání. Koncept sociální instituce. Funkce školy (manifestní a latentní). Kritické teorie školy. Tlak globálních faktorů na národní státy a jejich tradiční modely školy. Příklady proměny školství ve vybraných vyspělých státech. Scénáře budoucnosti školy dle OECD a naplňování funkcí vzdělávací instituce v nich.
Škola jako běžná a specifická organizace. Charakteristiky organizace (prvky, struktury), chování lidí v organizaci. Škola jako specifická organizace (rozvolněná vazba). Správa, řízení a vedení škol. Základní přístupy k pedagogickému vedení školy. Konkurence a trh ve školství. Význam stability a proces změny. Škola jako společenství a učící se organizace. Škola a její partneři: spolupráce nebo konflikt.
Klima a kultura školy. Fyzické, organizační a sociálně-kulturní prostředí školy. Původ, shody a rozdíly pojmů kultura a klima organizace. Součásti kultury. Kultura efektivních škol. Způsob zjišťování a význam klimatu a kultury školy. Klima sboru, třídy – komponenty. Čas a režim školy.
Annotation
The course explains the relationship between school and society. Schooling as a social institution and schools as organisations with specific characteristics will be explored.
Our focus will be on the form and function of contemporary (and future) schooling in continental Europe as well as in other parts one of world including the innovative and alternative models. We will discuss the goals of school leadership, management and governance.
The participants will become familiar with various styles of leadership such as transformational and instructional leadership. The concepts of climate of the school organisation and school culture will be explained and compared and the effects of effects of school culture and climate on pupil achievement will be discussed.
The participants will develop the insights and skills that will be applicable in a variety of educational settings. They will be able to critically analyse their school as an organisation, describe its strengths and weaknesses, and devise steps to improvement in specific area.
The final assignment/paper will apply concepts and skills presented and discussed in the course to students‘ school.
