Annotation
The course is focused on the interactive presentation of selected topics of zoology and with an overlap into related disciplines (ecoloy, ethology, environmentalistics). Students will be acquainted with current trends and innovations in zoology, which are related to new views on evolution, taxonomy, nomenclature, but also the use and ecology of species and new interactions between humans and animals.
The aim of the course is to expand and deepen especially cross-sectional knowledge in zoology as well as to get acquainted with other ways of presenting certain selected topics from zoology in a non-traditional and attractive way. During the seminars, the curriculum of zoology, methods and forms of teaching zoology (outdoor and indoor activities), the use of textbooks and information resources for teaching zoology, the inclusion of tools and work with them in teaching zoology and last but not least the overall (comprehensive) teacher training will be discussed. for teaching zoology.
Students will get acquainted with activating approaches to teaching biology and with possible strategies to increase students' interest in this subject.
