The course introduces basic information about the causes and consequences of invasions of plants and animals, in connection with the anthropogenic transfer of taxa across the borders of the original biogeographical areas. The introduction will present the terminology related to the introduction and invasion of organisms, the invasion process, transport vectors, the importance of disturbance, the properties of invasive species, the dynamics and impact of invasion, impacts on native biota (competence exclusion, threats to biodiversity, impact on ecological processes) , disease transmission, etc.), control and management of invasive species, international conventions related to invasive biology, White, Gray and Black lists are mentioned, model examples of important invasive species of plants and animals in the world and the Czech Republic are given.
