Syllabus

The place of drama and theatre in foreign language teaching.  

Improvisation in the English classroom.  

Working with pre-scripted dialogues

Annotation

In this course, we are going to explore some basic ways of using dramatic playing and performance in the language classroom. Through reading and sharing our findings, we are going to extend our awareness of the performative approach to language learning and teaching, its theoretical framework, history, and current development.

As writers, performers, directors, and above all as teachers, we are going to submerge in the magic world of "as if" and see what learning opportunities it may offer to our students.
