The course deals with the following topics:
- grammatical structure of a Czech sentence, variations of its analysis and description
- valency vs. dependenc approach towards sentence structure
- predication; sentence vs. utterance, modal modification od syntactic structures, functional sentence perspective
- complex and compound sentence, their relations to text/discourse
- text as a message (communication)
- text coherence and text cohesion
