Vocal Technique
In line with the requirements and goals of the first year of study, the emphasis is mainly on balancing vocal range and its expansion, the ability to dynamically use of the voice, the development of musical imagination and the stylistic and expressive singing of the studied compositions. Singing literature is based on the singing and personal prerequisites of students.
The student prepares a 3-5 page seminar paper on Voice Preparation, which is submitted by the end of the credit week (the last week of the semester) to his/her Voice Preparation teacher. In the seminar paper he/she will elaborate on the problems of one of the studied compositions. He will focus on information about the composer, the style, the content and character of the piece, the procedure for studying the piece, suggestions for its didactic use, and issues he has addressed in his studies.

Předmět je zaměřen na rozvoj pěveckých a nástrojových dovedností, na rozvoj kreativních schopností na základě nástrojové improvizace, zejména při zpěvu a hře lidových, zlidovělých nebo umělých písní a praktické seznámení s repertoárem na základě studia děl různých stylových období. Důraz je kladen na praktické seznámení s jednotlivými hudebními formami a specifiky interpretace, typickými pro daná hudebněhistorická období. Improvizace se zaměřuje na stylizaci doprovodu lidové písně ve shodě s jejich původem a charakterem. Předmět je koncipován jako čtyřsemestrální (Hlasová a nástrojová příprava I-IV). Předměty na sebe navazují. Výuka, která reflektuje technickou a interpretační vyspělost jednotlivých studentů, probíhá dle individuálního studijního plánu sestaveného na celý akademický rok. Cílem předmětu je odborná hlasová, pěvecká a nástrojová připravenost a vybavenost studenta pro pozdější hudebněvýchovnou praxi.
The course is focused on the development of singing and instrumental skills, the development of creative skills based on instrumental improvisation, especially in singing and playing folk, popular or artificial songs and practical acquaintance with the repertoire based on the study of works of various styles. Emphasis is placed on practical acquaintance with individual musical forms and specifics of interpretation, typical for given music-historical periods. Improvisation focuses on the stylization of the accompaniment of folk songs in accordance with their origin and character. The course is designed as a four-semester (Voice and Instrumental Preparation I-IV). The objects follow each other. Teaching, which reflects the technical and interpretive maturity of individual students, takes place according to an individual study plan compiled for the entire academic year. The aim of the course is professional vocal, singing and instrumental readiness and equipment of the student for later music education practice.
