Annotation
The course presents at the level of contemporary knowledge the history and current direction of concepts of support for people with disadvantages. It focuses in particular on the constitution and development of special education as a scientific field with its interdisciplinary links. It aims to introduce students to the world of people with disabilities and their special needs with an emphasis on traditional and newly assigned special education target groups. Socialization from a historical perspective and integration and inclusion as a process will be presented. Students will be introduced to current special education literature and the latest research in the field. Content:
1. Special education in the context of other disciplines.
2. A shift in perspectives on educational methods for individuals with special educational needs.
3. Target groups of special pedagogy, support resources in education in the course of inclusive changes.
4. Non-profit organizations and their contribution to the education of pupils with special educational needs.
5. Family and pupil. The family context of disability: the disabled individual as a family member, support for the family of a pupil with disabilities.
6. Historical changes in the teaching of pupils with sensory and physical disabilities in the Czech and international context.
7. Historical changes in the teaching of pupils with mental disabilities in the Czech and international context.
8. Socialisation, normalisation and personalisation in the support of people with disabilities.
