Annotation

The course introduces students to traditional and current currents in art education and introduces their important axes. It deals with the goals in art education and their curricular grounding.

During the semester, students learn a functional vocabulary of art education, learn to understand important documents and professional texts. They study selected texts from the theory of art education.

They touch on the definition of some traditional theories in the definition of typologies of creation, the concept of the crisis of artistic expression, creativity, they study the issue of the development of children's artistic expression and its characteristics and stages. They learn to understand the relationship between children's and professional art, they get acquainted with the concept of gallery education.

The course aims to introduce students to contemporary art education defined by curricular documents, against the background of historical development in the twentieth century, and to open the way to understanding the possibilities and limits of the current concept. The course focuses on monitoring changes in the concept of art education in the second half of the twentieth century and today, about changes and shifts in theoretical thinking.
