Syllabus

1. Definition of important terms used in the field of population protection in emergencies.

2. Description, causes and consequences of events that are considered extraordinary (natural disasters, danger of leakage of dangerous substances, radiation, terrorist attack, etc.).

3. Ensuring the protection of the population in the event of a threat or emergency.

4. Guidelines on how to stay safe in the event of a threat and how to help others.

5. Legal regulations and important documents from the area of the  rescue system, population protection and fire protection.

Learning outcomes of the course unit The course provides basic information concerning the protection of the population in emergencies. This information should be used to support pedagogical workplaces.

The aim of the course is to provide students with information on how to behave during events that are considered extraordinary (eg, fire, natural disasters, danger of leakage of hazardous substances, radiation, terrorist attack, etc.).
