Annotation

The subject Foreign Language - French I is part of a continuous and interrelated set of courses Foreign Language - French I-V for 1st to 3rd year of French language studies for the 1st level of primary school. Its aim is the gradual training and development of the student's linguistic and communicative skills leading to the attainment of the level of language competence A1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Emphasis is placed on practising the understanding of spoken and written French, the creative elaboration and mastery of selected conversational topics and the further expansion of conversational areas. Attention is also given to correct pronunciation, natural diction and sentence melody.

The course is aimed at mastering the basics of French grammar and vocabulary appropriate to the level. The teaching follows the Le Nouveau Taxi ! 1 textbook and additional activities (see Moodle and extension literature).

Understanding of the spoken word and introduction to the realities of contemporary France is also achieved with the help of multimedia aids.
