Annotation

Lectures and seminars will focus on selected global trends and current topics (e.g. global education, education for sustainable development, education for citizenship and implementation of formative assessment). Students will learn about current educational concepts (e.g. global citizenship, global competencies), teaching strategies and methods (e.g. non-violent communication, philosophy for children) and current global issues (e.g. migration, security and conflicts, working with pupils' emotions in primary school).

In cooperation with the One World in Schools programme (People in Need organization), students will watch documentaries on current topics and receive methodological support for working with them (jsns.cz portal). In their home preparation for seminars and in seminars themselves, students search for and work with current data sources, discuss the challenges to which education must respond, and devise strategies and procedures for responding to these changes in the school and classroom.

Course content will be updated to reflect current societal changes.
