4) Representative summary of American prose and poetry of the 1910s through early 40s, centred around Modernism and the Lost Generation.
5) A comprehensive overview of US literature from World War II until the present.
6) The birth and rise of American drama, with an obvious focus on 20th century playwrights.
7) The main themes, aspects and representatives in American fiction, poetry and drama since the 2000s.
The course seeks to consolidate and deepen the student’s knowledge of American literature. The students are invited to view American literature and its major works in a broader historical, social, cultural, and educational context. Topics:
