Annotation
The course views the theory of logos parallelly and in connection with the theory of ethos and pathos. It also interconnects the history of linguistic thinking with the history of rhetoric, text aesthetics and pragmatics.
The course focuses on the period from antiquity to the 15th century. Each seminar consists of an introductory theoretical presentation and of reading and analysing a relevant linguistics text.
