Annotation
The aim of the course is to give students an overview of German literature from the mid-1920s to 1968 against the background of the European political and spiritual climate. Recognition and aesthetic appreciation of selected literary works.
Development of communicative skills in German in relation to literary and cultural themes. Topics: political-historical context, post-war situation, Weimar Republic, literary genres, content and formal experiments, 'New Objectivity' in lyric, epic and drama, reflection 1.
World War II in German literature, drama and theatre (1920-1933), the rise of fascism and its consequences for culture and literature, cultural and historical context, literature of the "inner emigration", anti-fascist literature, exile centres, magazines, publishing houses, Prague as an exile centre, literature and culture in Hitler's Germany, the dispute over German literature after the liberation, development tendencies in German literature after 1945, the beginnings of literature in the two German states.
