Annotation

The aim of this subject is to complete the knowledge and skill base of German language didactics in the line of compulsory subjects. After completing the course, students are able to choose suitable and adequate procedures from the point of view of the different composition of the target group of pupils with the aim of implementing an individual and differentiated approach.

Students prepare and implement the teaching of one lesson, the teaching is recorded on video with the subsequent provision of feedback by the teacher, peer assessment and self-assessment. During the course, students create a portfolio of their previous research from professional literature, a description of practical teaching experience within practice and formulate their own attitudes towards German language teaching in primary and secondary schools in the portfolio.

At the end, they defend their overall portfolio. The course content includes the following topics: Individualization and differentiation in the teaching of the German language.

Teaching the German language to pupils with specific learning needs - pupils with specific learning disabilities, gifted pupils. The current status of the new secondary school leaving certificate.

Motivation. Learning strategies and styles and their development and support in teaching German.
