Annotation
The aim of this subject is to provide basic overview of the theory of translation and to teach students to apply the gained knowledge in the course of translating professional and journalistic texts. The choice of the matherial is focused on the depiction of characteristic features of individual fields (economy, finance, business etc.).
It deals with priorities such as the specification of frequent dominants of the text, adequate choice of translational equivalents and their fixation, the ability to perceive a coherent foreign text and the final translational competence. Emphasis is put on translational procedures and practical mastering of the particular phenomena according to the topics written below.
