Annotation

The course focuses on studio teaching, which develops the painting and drawing perception in a work of art, transforming this perception into a pedagogical process. At the content level, it focuses on "thinking by the image", i.e. the understanding of the reading of the image by the author and the viewer.

This image focused thinking refers to a level in which the meaning of the image and the text do not differ. Formally, the course focuses on color and shape exaggeration, external and internal image structure, form and technology.

The course provides a basic understanding of color theory, shape and drawing composition. Interpretation of drawing and painting in the current and historical context of fine arts and culture.

Changes in painting expression and the function of color in painting in selected epochs and artistic periods. Exploring the relationship between conceptual and visual, grasping reality through artistic expression.

During the course, students create their own project, in which they integrate the acquired theoretical and didactic knowledge. The topics of the author's projects will result from the introductory meeting and the subsequent discussion.

Teaching takes place in groups and individually. Studio teaching will end with a presentation of a joint exhibition or an author's portfolio of students.

Part of the whole work process is a continuous reflection and self-evaluation of the art process, which also helps to understand the author's work from the position of art teacher. Understanding and placing one's own work in the context of contemporary art, through a visit to an exhibition at a gallery institution.

The aim of the course is to combine practical and theoretical knowledge of surface expression by creating your own art project and the subsequent ability to transform these skills into the teacher's didactic competencies. Transformation of complex knowledge into lesson preparation.
