Annotation

The course focused on creation and its reflection introduces students to the basics of ceramic crafts. The methodology of teaching ceramics is designed in blocks.

Students will get acquainted with the basic ways of creating ceramics that can be used when working with children. The aim of the course is to acquire basic knowledge of technological procedures in modeling and working with a clay plate, acquaintance with aids and methods of their use, using plaster as an auxiliary material in ceramics.

Production of a simple plaster mold. Mold forming, product retouching.

Students will learn to operate the furnace, they will get acquainted with the types of firing. Students will try basic decorating techniques on their own products - the use of metal oxides, engobes and glazes.

Students work on the task individually, from several structures they choose three, which they process in several media: photography, black and white design, color design. Any design processing technique.

The student chooses one variant, stylizing it and converts it into a plastic form. Study of structures, inspiration by nature, ethnic art.

Other activities include: Production of plaster mold, reproduction of the shape in any quantity. Compilation of the final form of the composition.

Decorating with oxides, engobes and glazes. Glass applications.

Introduction to furnace operation. In technological downtimes (eg drying of products), students are acquainted with a practical example of unusual decorating techniques: smoking ceramics, painting with cobalt on fired glaze, etc.
