The course focuses on the perception and experience of architecture and space in the city and beyond. However, by exploring places that students know well through which they go through daily, they do not perceive their unique characters.
The course does not represent the teachings of architectural theory, but attempts to open up a different view of the city and the space in which we move daily. It focuses on the phenomenology of architecture and its possible use in art education.
Students will explore this topic from several angles. Students will try out the topics the course deals with (city, house, road, place memory) from the position of artist, teacher and researcher.
They will examine the A / r / tography method as a current research methodology. Teaching takes place individually and in groups, where students work together, motivate and reflect on each other.
The topic of the course is the perception of the genius loci of a certain place and artistic activity as its transformation. Didactic use of knowledge gained in the course and transfer of this knowledge into pedagogical practice.
Part of the course is a presentation of the author's portfolio of students or a joint exhibition, an important part of which is the written reflection and self-evaluation of the art process. Understanding and placing one's own work in the context of contemporary art, through a visit to an exhibition at a gallery institution focusing on architecture.
