Annotation

The course introduces students to the basic methodological and epistemological background of research in the field of art education and reflected art expression. It will present basic research anchors (quantitative and qualitative), with an emphasis on currently used qualitative research models in the field. That means three basic areas that overlap: a) The field of visual culture, its practice and theory: analysis of the cultural artefact - artwork / art testimony, self-reflection of art media, processes of art creation, its contemporary forms and functions; b) Research of so-called pedagogical work and didactic knowledge of content, practice and theory: position of an author - artist, teacher, pupil in interactions, pedagogical reflection of teaching situations, dialogue analysis, analysis of discourse, modalities of pedagogical transformation of cultural contents, role of institutions and curricular frameworks etc. c) Principles of pedagogical comparatistic in art education research and the possibilities of trans-cultural artistic transfers and trans-cultural education in the subject of art education. Hybrid, mixed and interdisciplinary models of research in the field of art education.

Students will be introduced to ongoing research project of the Department Horizon2020 AMASS and will be provided up-to-date information from current stage Testbed WP3.
