Class at Faculty of Education |

Annotation

The lecture and the seminar present a gradual discussion on the methodology of art based research and examples of art interpretation on the basis of typological structure of interpretative theories. Students will acquaint themselves with the types of art-historical methodological approaches, proceeding from the study of an artwork as a structure, and its function as an object of psychological, hermeneutic, socio-cultural, phenomenological, gender, poststructuralist, postmodern exploration, to art that is narrowly seen as a product of utility function perceived as part of a visual culture, including the latest skeptical methodological statements.
