Syllabus

1.Develop a research question (incl. the outcomes for the review) & write up the protocol (register at PROSPERO) 2.Define eligibility (inclusion/exclusion ) criteria: PICOS 3.Find the studies: •search formula•choice of the databases•deduplication•screening•search references 4.Extract the data 5.Assess quality of the data – risk of bias (PEDro, RoB 2 tool by Cochrane) 6.Synthesize the data descriptively and inferentially (meta-analysis) 7.Summarize the findings

Annotation

Students will learn about the principles of creating review studies and meta-analyses in the natural sciences.

They will learn to search for relevant literature in electronic databases using Boolean operators, they will familiarized with the principles of developing a qualitative analysis within the framework of a systematic review and with analytical methods used in hypothesis testing in meta-analyses. They will be able to apply the synthesis of knowledge found in specification of the research problem.
