Annotation
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the origin and development of economics as a scientific discipline. The course monitors individual economic schools belonging to the so-called "mainstream" of economics, explains the methodology and conclusions, or recommendations for economic practice.
Attention is also paid to important theories of the so-called alternative directions, which are based on different assumptions than mainstream economics and therefore result in non-standard conclusions and recommendations for economic policy. The course also pays attention to the ideas of the most important winners of the Nobel Prize in Economics.
