Theory and Basics of Didactics of Outdoor Sports

Syllabus

Lectures:

1. Introduction to the course - commentary on the program, safety regulations, organization of teaching, operation of the center, work in cooperatives, services, skills development, didactic procedures, experience functions.

2. Outdoor activities - an overview of the whole area, a closer description of tourism, outdoor sports, a brief overview of important organizations that use and develop outdoor activities with an educational focus. Educational applications of outdoor activities. New directions of using outdoor activities - outdoor education, adventure education, education through experience and challenge, the contribution of the organization Outward Bound, Holiday School Lipnice, characteristics of natural all-around and versatility competitions.

3. Team management - division of roles, cooperation in the program, common tasks of the team in the service - organization of morning meetings, possible contribution to the evening programs, evaluation of the program.

4. Cycling and cycling tourism - characteristics of the industry, development stages, forms of cycling, use and applications, nomenclature, technology, individual and group riding technique, equipment and principles for cycling.

5. Preparation of a tourist event - one-day tourist tour with a cognitive goal, cultural cognitive activity, safety.

6. Wheel technology - wheel adjustment, simple repairs, driving technique, regulations, methods of communication.

7. Orientation and orienteering - meaning, work with map and compass, orienteering games, didactic procedures. Today's state of OB, principles of track construction, use of school orientation.

8. Simple orienteering race - preparatory forms, eg O-Ring - practice and evaluation of results.

9. Game theory - meaning of games, division of games, division of games in nature on the course, principles of preparation and management of games, safety rules.

10. Games and cultural activities - examples of use at events - programs for the clubhouse or campfire.

11. Exercises in nature - changes of this name, various forms of exercises, various types of obstacles and their use, rope obstacles, parkour, safety rules for construction and operation, material quality.

12. Ecological education and use of games for perception and cognition of nature - meaning and concept.

13. Equipment for nature.

14. Basic knots, work with rope, information about securing, penetration.

15. Evaluation of the course program - various forms of feedback, survey, questionnaires, etc. Example for practice, educational evaluation, connection to other curricula. Exercises:

1. Cycling and cycling - cycling technique, skill riding, group riding.

2. Cycling and cycling - cycling tour, half-day and full-day wandering and team management.

3. Orientation I - map-compass, map-terrain, orientation games and exercises - distance estimation, azimuth.

4. Orientation II - line procedure with consistent evaluation, controls arranged in an asterisk - example of exercises with analysis of procedures, comparison of times.

5. Relay race in OB - Ovčí Ring.

6. Orientation III - skorelauf - preparatory exercises, analysis of results.

7. Mini race in OB - introduction to the electronic system.

8. Orienteering race - example of a race, different difficulty of controls, example of organization, evaluation of results.

9. Outdoor games - an example of "small" outdoor games and tracking games.

10. Initiative games - development of trust, problem solving and development of teamwork.

11. Strategy games - involvement of the whole course.

12. Ecogames - preparation and execution of simple games.

13. Exercises in nature - an example of a paddock in the field, competitions at sites.

14. Low rope obstacles, parkour - exercises on prepared sites.

15. Basics of climbing - principles of climbing, overcoming training walls and bouldering, abseiling.

16. Basics of VHT - movement on a secured path, equipment, safety.

Annotation

Compulsory subject including theory, practical exercises and didactic procedures in "turistika", and outdoor activities. Next to educational objectives, the course provides a model of outdoor education course for schools using experiential learning procedures.
