Anotace
On the background of some basic concepts and theories of professional ethics the course will focus on virtue ethics, particularly on the use of moral virtues and professional wisdom in the context of helping/social professions. The aim of the course is to explore some pros and cons of this strategy (esp.S.Banks) vis a vie selected classical texts (esp.Aristotle) and usual requirements of professionalism.
It endeavour to bring them closer to real issues one can face in professional practice and particular professional roles e.g. in organisation working within Christian ethos, such as Diaconia or Caritas, or in teaching or in leisure-time professions.
