Annotation

The course serves as an introduction to the theory and practice of the church rituals with a special focus on the aspects of liturgics and theory of ritual useful in the crisis community and pastoral work. The course concentrates on the liturgical hermeneutics and various shapes of liturgical expressions of contemporary churches, especially the shape of liturgy, prayers and songs.

A special attention pays to the rituals of transition and their transformative potential for an individual as well as for a community in the situations of life crisis and reversals. The aim of the course is to provide the basic knowledge and skills needed for the preparation of the culturally appropriate ritual in practice, especially the ability to perceive, understand, interpret and create rituals.
