Annotation

Course of lectures over one semester on literary aspects of the bible. In addition to outlining the history of literary analysis of biblical texts, it provides an introduction to issues surrounding the historical origin of the biblical traditions, their formation during history and the process of establishing a canon, and to questions of literary form and so-called special literary introduction (depending on individual writings).

The course is offered once every two years, alternating with the course on the contemporary background to the Old Testament. Evaluation: test or colloquium.
