Hebrew Bible and Its Modern Interpretation: From Reception Theory to Deconstruction and Ideological Criticism
OT scholarship nowadays faces influences from very different fields of the science. This has immense impact on the 'shape' of the discipline which is now far from homegenous. Task of the course it to deal with variety of newer approaches to the Hebrew Bible with concentration on their philosophical background. After a short theoretical survey of these approaches (above all of reception theory, deconstruction and ideological criticism) a practical work with relevant texts will follow. The result of the course might be (a.) informed and balanced pleasure on the present 'chaotic' sitaution, (b.) end of despair and end of lost orientation.
