Prerequisite: passing the course Old Testament Seminar 2 (RETA1021).
The comprehensive Master’s examination in the Old Testament consists of two parts: a) exegesis of Old Testament texts b) Old Testament theology and biblical hermeneutics
Students prepare in advance a systematic exegesis of a total of four biblical passages (consisting of about 20 verses), of which the examiners choose one.
Students hand in their written exegetical work two days before the examination. During the examination of the exegesis of the prepared text (but not during its translation!) it is possible to look at the written material, support the interpretation by using prepared diagrams, etc.
Detailed information about the material covered in the examination, its organisation, and the requirements for preparation, are published on the website of the Department: https://web.etf.cuni.cz/ETFN-649.html
