The course is an introduction to sociological thinking based on the reading of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann's book "The Social Construction of Reality." The subject of the course is to explain and make students understand the basic principles of the sociology of knowledge and of a sociology as a scientific discipline.

The course is divided into three blocks: the foundation of knowledge in everyday life, society as objective reality and society as subjective reality. The aim of the course is to adress the issue of social constructivisim in contemporary society and to apply the theoretical background to the current social problems.
