Anotace

Diploma seminar for those who are/will be writing their thesis in social sciences. Weekly schedule:

1) Common introductory lecture I: What is a BA thesis. Structure of the BA thesis and a work plan. The role of a supervisor and other support. Choosing a topic. Primary and secondary sources. Literature searching. Citation managers and organization of knowledge.

2) Presentation and discussion of individual topics – qualitative social sciences

3) Presentation and discussion of individual topics – quantitative social sciences

4) Presentation and discussion of individual topics

5) Presentation and discussion of individual topics

6) Common introductory lecture II: Drafting a plan and writing an abstract. Writing a dissertation project proposal. Citational practices. Avoiding plagiarism.

7) Presentation and discussion of individual project proposals – qualitative social sciences
