Annotation

Nordic Viking and Medieval Culture I.: Viking Culture (ca. 793-1066)

This course provides students with insights into cultural and political history of the Viking Age Scandinavia, with a special emphasis on Norway. Source criticism and an interdisciplinary approach to contemporary sources within major topics (such as migration, settlement, trade and crafts, change of religion) are important features of the course. Lectures are given in Czech, but primary and secondary sources are to be read in English.
