Annotation
While a wide range of products of the present pop culture and life style have "romantic" connotations, the term romantic originally refers to the specific cultural phenomena of the 1800 appearing in connection with the major "early modern" changes in science, thought, art, politics, economy and society, some of which, however, have been influential till the present day. The course is concerned with both the echos and misinterpretations of the term in the present pop culture, raising such questions as: why nowadays strawberies are romantic whereas burial ceremonies or murders are not.
