Anotace
This course is designed to give students the opportunity to prepare for the written portion of the English PhD exam. Through a combination of individual tutorials and, when necessary, group lectures, the course will prepare students in expository prose writing at the sentence level, at the paragraph level and at the level of organization and presentation of an argument.
Students will work on writing in their own area and on their own topics, and using these materials, the instructor will advise them about the appropriate time to attempt to pass the written portion of the PhD exam in English.
