Class at Faculty of Humanities |

Annotation

In this course of German Classic Philosophy we will focus on the intersection of metaphysics and practical philosophy of Kant and Schelling and explore thus the multiple meanings of the concept of freedom. We will then analyse as well the concepts of freedom and system in Schelling, Fichte and Hegel from the broader dualistic account inaugurated by Kant in his Critique of Pure Reason (1781) all the way into its consequences for the contemporary theory of freedom and of the State.
