The lecture will focus on presentation and interpretation of feminist theories of care and their development in the light of contemporary globalizing processes and changes of late modern society. The concept of care which was introduced by feminist theory is established notably in the field of sociology, moral and political theory, social politics and increasingly also in global studies. These fields indicate the interdisciplinary focus of the lecture. The lecture is structured into three parts. In the first bloc (2nd – 5th week) we will concentrate on the interpretation of the concept of care by selected feminist theories which represent the main approaches of feminist theory of care.
Following bloc (6th – 9th week) will be devoted to sociological analysis of changes in social form of care in the larger framework of development of late modern society. The third bloc (10th – 12th week) will follow with the exposition of the contemporary tendencies in feminist theory of care, influenced particularly by reflexion of globalization.
