The aim of the course is introduce students the use of qualitative methods in oral history, present sub-research techniques and their applications in the field. The first part of the course focuses on the theoretical aspects of the research, especially on biography and memory.
The second part focuses on the practical aspects of research on the subject of narrative strands, ie the dangers of misinterpretation, ethical aspects of interpretation and analysis, reliability, validity and generalization of the material obtained. Part of the course will also be devoted to students presenting research papers (articles, essays, publications, narrative sources) and discuss methodological issues.
This course deals with the potential employment of qualitative research in the study of oral history. An introduction to a variety of research methods, the course focuses on data processing and analysis, and also academic presentation.
