A graduate has advanced knowledge of methods in organic synthesis, stereochemistry, and organic reaction mechanisms as well as in related areas. The graduate has theoretical and working knowledge in the area of identification and characterization of organic molecules by using state of the art instrumental techniques, in the area of isolation methods, and in the field of general analysis of organic molecules.

The integral part of the course are also working laboratory skills. In addition, the graduate is familiar with the use of modern databases for bibliographic information.

The graduate is competent to carry out research related to organic chemistry and related disciplines.
