Graduates possess knowledge of the Czech language and literature in a wide historical and cultural context, enabling them to seek employment in research, pedagogy and other positions related to Czech or Slavonic studies. They can use various varieties of Czech, and have a solid grounding in Czech literature, basic methods and concepts of description of language and literary texts; they are able to present this knowledge in a cultivated way both in spoken and written forms.
They are equipped with skills in modern linguistic applications, in the complex interpretation of various types of texts, and in the application of basic methods of linguistic research. Graduates are qualified to apply for doctoral studies and/or seek employment in cultural institutions, state administration and the diplomatic service.
