Profiles

Graduates have active communication skills (productive and receptive) in both working languages (professional skills in their native language and foreign language skills in Czech equivalent to CEFR level B2 and above or German equivalent to level C1 and above). They have acquired a basic competence in translating general texts and specialized texts of medium difficulty from/into Czech and German and basic skills in consecutive interpreting in both directions; they are prepared to further develop their competence in specific domains of the translation profession.

They are able to reflect upon basic translation and interpreting problems and their broad general knowledge foundation meets the requirements for higher degree studies. They are prepared to enter the employment market as independent professionals in intercultural communication.
