Profiles

Graduates gain a thorough grounding in speech production and perception, phonological description and current approaches; they develop skills in the acoustic and auditory analysis of speech, and statistical analysis of phonetic data. Given each graduate’s individual professional focus, s/he gains advanced knowledge in interdisciplinary aspects of speech communication.

Graduates are able to independently apply and develop their advanced knowledge of German language, cultural and literary history and present issues of German-speaking countries. Their wide knowledge of the German-speaking area allows them to work in cultural and political institutions, public service, massmedia, tourism, or as translators.
