Graduates of the study programme have a grounding in the history, material and intellectual culture, religion and development of the society of ancient Egypt and the Near East. Graduates are proficient in the grammar and writing systems of Middle Egyptian and Akkadian and can read and interpret texts written in these languages.

Moreover, they are familiar with current problems in the research field and are able to use fundamental methodological approaches.
