Graduates of the specialisation in Peace and Conflict Studies will acquire deep insight into the roots, evolution, management and resolution of conflicts, with an emphasis on violent aspects of this phenomenon. The module puts an emphasis on complex and cross-sectional understanding of conflicts, from the level of systemic, state-to state conflicts through intra-state clashes to the microdynamics of violence.
The sum of gained knowledge includes detailed information on topical and highly relevant phenomena, such as terrorism and counterterrorism, insurgency, radicalisation or peacekeeping, including an ethical reflection of these topics.
