The Ph.D. graduate in Czech Language has a broad overview of the whole field of linguistic Czech studies and of general linguistics including new linguistic disciplines (as corpus linguistics, cognitive linguistics); he has mastered contemporary linguistic theories and the methodology of linguistic research; he has in-depth knowledge in his/her chosen specialisation within the field of Czech linguistic studies, possesses the skill of professional reflection and creative application of linguistic methodology and is able to apply the attained knowledge in other linguistic areas.
The graduate may gain employment in various scientific research and educational, especially tertiary level institutions, in academic institutions, and also in publishing and editing and expert assessment of language practice.
