The graduate of the bachelor study programme East European Studies with specialization of Latvian is equipped with knowledge of Latvian language which matches the B2 level of the European Reference Frame of Languages. He disposes of knowledge about the area of East Europe. He disposes of necessary preconditions to continue in the follow-up M.A. study programmes.

Graduates have a basic knowledge of the Chinese language and culture and are prepared to continue their studies in a master’s programme in Sinology. They have a grounding in information sources about China and an ability to use these sources independently. They are qualified for careers in settings that require a knowledge of modern Chinese and Chinese history and culture.
