Profiles

Having received training in linguistics, literary studies and history, graduates are specialists in the Slovak language, literature and history and have a grounding in Slovak geography, culture and society. Graduates have Slovak language skills at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Graduates additionally have a knowledge of another area of the Central European region – Czech, German, Hungarian, or Slovak studies – literatures of Central Europe, the history of Central Europe or Slavic studies, depending on their choice. Graduates can apply this knowledge when interpreting developments in Central Europe and when analysing Slovak texts and speech of various genres.

Graduates are also able to translate into Czech, compose and produce texts and speech in Slovak for various communicative purposes.
