The graduate gains deep specific knowledge in the study of civilization, nation, region, city and cultural/historical heritage in an interdisciplinary and international context. Specific competences include the ability to function in academic English and French; to analyze independently problems in the form of field work, case studies or historical analysis; to propose adequate solutions; apply theories and concepts in comparative perspectives, transnationalism, or shared history if pertinent.

She/He is also ready to engage in team work. Professional applications of this degree include postgraduate studies, research in social sciences and public history, in governmental urban planning institutions, regional governance and development, heritage maintenance and tourism at all levels, employment in diplomacy, media or private enterprise.
