Profiles

Graduates have mastered the basic methods of academic work and are acquainted with the history of philosophy (ancient philosophy, patristic philosophy and scholasticism, early-modern philosophy, 19th and 20th century philosophy). They have a good grounding in contemporary philosophy (both analytic and continental).

They also, as a matter of course, have advanced competence in two major languages and have mastered the basics of either Latin or ancient Greek. Graduates are proficient in critical philosophical evaluation, in the formulation of important questions and in the provision of cogent responses.

They have advanced skills in abstraction and an analytical approach to solving complex issues, as well as the ability to effectively evaluate texts and to clearly formulate their own ideas in oral and written form.
