The M.A. graduate has a very good command of one Scandinavian language, has a reading knowledge of the two remaining major Scandinavian languages, has a deep knowledge of Scandinavian literature and is informed about the cultural, historical and social institutions of the European Nordic regions. The graduate has acquired the skill of working with information. The graduate can pursue a career in, for example, cultural or scientific institutions, the public sector, the media, in foreign missions and in the diplomatic service, and in the tourist sector.
The M.A. degree in this field is also a prerequisite for a career as a translator and, in combination with Translation Studies, also a qualification for interpreting and translation positions in EU structures and those of other European institutions.
