Graduates are able to independently analyse social problems while considering the history and current trends of modern societies. They have knowledge of the most significant sociological theories and they understand their relevance for the interpretation of social reality.
They are able to choose and apply a suitable theory, to suggest and carry out a corresponding research project (design), consider its ethical aspects, interpret collected data and suggest solutions to contemporary social problems. They are ready to carry out research in national, European and global contexts.
They will find career opportunities in both basic and applied research, including academic research, public administration, non-governmental organizations but also the spheres of politics, business and international relations.
